We’re back! Sort of. Well, to be honest, it’s not like we ever actually left…
Back in April 2011, West London Collective (WLC) set out to hold public events for automotive enthusiasts. As the name may inform you, based in Greater West London, WLC met with moderate success, at it’s height pulling a selection of close to a thousand cars, monthly, to a recently improved car park in Hayes.
Inevitably, such success could not be met without there being a few unsavoury enthusiasts showing up and ultimately, putting a stop to our good natured Sunday nights. At the end of it all, one man attempting a rolling burnout in a densely packed car park was never going to end well, instead ending in two written off cars.
This was not taken lightly by the team behind WLC and an immediate decision to cease all further action under that moniker was made. After two years of success, it was lay to rest but the burning desire to be the driving force behind these events remained, fiercely.
This brings us to the present day. After a hiatus of another few years, the team finally relented and have bowed to increasing pressure from across the UK to start something again. So here we are!
WeDoSht is just another name – not meant to signify anything, only to serve as a collective banner we can continue enjoying ourselves under. However, whilst our previous efforts were focused on cars, the time away from it all has allowed us to grow and mature, to keep pace with the world of today. Now, we have more rounded interests and seek to create a cultural powerhouse for those who share a similar passion. Not only will we be looking at cars, shows and events, but we will be delving into music, design and more.
Unfortunately, there’s a lot left to be done and it won’t be easy. We will be looking for support and already know that a number of prominent individuals, clubs and organisations are already behind us in our every endeavour. We will be organising events however these will take a new format as opposed to our previous way of doing things and all will be made clear soon.
In the meantime, enjoy the few photos here and stay tuned for our next installment!
